My kids loved this place growing up. I visited recently after a 6 year hiatus and it's still great.

They had outdoor seating for safety that was great. Each table was very distant from the next which was nice. Everything was clean and they had purell at the entrance of both doors. The wait staff was friendly and as usual the food was delicious. My carnitas tacos durados were yummy!

Our #1 local taquiera pick for authentic Mexican cuisine! Always fresh, always quality selections, and very generous portions, at an awesome price. Plus, THE BEST salsa bar (with at least 4-5 varieties) you can find in town! A+++

This is such a gem of a find. The food here is delicious and the service touch notch. I work nearby and don’t get a lot of time for lunch—they are quick so I can actually chew my food before heading back to work. The bathrooms are always clean as well—an added bonus!

I read quite a few of the favorable online reviews before deciding to eat at this place, and I anticipated an nice authentic meal. The food that I was served was terrible, I ordered camarones al mojo de ajo, the red sauce tasted and smelled like ketchup with minced garlic added to it. I also ordered a chili relleno, the chili had not been roasted or cooked and was hard and crunchy. I sent the chili relleno back and they took it off my tab. Judging by the reviews, a lot of people like the place, not a good experience for me...

Came in for dinner first time out to eat I asked for the camarones al mojo de ajo it was so bad taste it’s all ketchup never had shrimp that way and the burrito we asked for do dry one thing good about my dinner was excellent customer service but the food not good

The super quesadilla half carne asada and half pollo asada is out of this world. The best i have tried.. the fajita chicken salad is very delicious as well. The chile relleno burritoo and the fajitas are worth the try too. The salsa bar is a super plus and their food is always tasty and fresh.

I had my first dine in experience today since the quarantine began. Miss Compadre's staff was super friendly, organized and sanitary. The new normal is working well here! It was a fantastic experience and the food was so delicious. Everyone was working hard to maintain sanitation during your ordering process, down to serving you. Thank you for making this new normal and easy transition. I can't wait to come back. BTW the shrimp tacos were to die for!

Mine and my husband's favorite places for Mexican food. The enchilada combo is my favorite.

I come here often. Excellent food. A little pricey but I don't mind paying more for quality.

Their food is fantastic every time! Friendly staff members & everything is consistently good. I love the salsa with the cabbage in it & theirs is super yummy. Huge portions, I always have a meal for later when I eat there, because I can never finish in one sitting. One of my kids is super picky & doesn’t like anything, so I’m so thankful for the chicken strip kids meal option too. We almost always get dessert, and my kids love the churros & I love the flan!

Good prices for good food. Chips are good. Salsa bar is decent. The restaurant is comfortable and a good location. Staff is always friendly and everything is very clean all the time.

Food was Incredible as always. Service today started off horrible. Our waitress that assisted at first was awful. She served our checks before we even got chips and drinks, after waiting FOREVER. Then we had another two waitress tended to us MUCH MUCH Better service. Mature Lady with hat was so Awesome.

They have great food and service. They take pride in their business and keep their restaurant so clean. Especially during this Covid pandemic.

My friends And I come here after pick up ultimate. This is a top 3 place in the valley for us. Price and food is amazing.

Food is mediocre...there was a lack of flavor in the food and the fajita grilled chicken was waaaaay too grilled (charcoal pieces). Even the sauces lacked flavor too (or just sodium, yum). Atmosphere was nice in the evening though, but I'm probably not coming back (too many other amazing options around)

The food wasn't nasty, but it was far from good. And also when I started laughing at the fact that they gave me a few, small, cut up pieces of chicken for it to be chicken tenders and fries they seemingly owner decided to stare at me and my friends the whole time we were there

The food was great and so was the service. I am picky when it comes to chili relanos and theirs is very good. The burritos are huge and delicious I will be going back.

Food was great. Customer service was fantastic. Would highly recommend them. Within walking distance of Hill chiropractic.

Bad service to many pick up orders they forget about the dine in costumers we sat on our table they took a long to bring water & we finally order and took a long time but get this they want you to pay before your order comes out! Nothing special about this restaurant Maria Taco shop 10 x better staff not really friendly probably the heat got them tha will be the last time for me! El Rosal and javies and taqueria San Jose way better I had seen all the comments on Facebook how good it was!👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Delicious! We ordered the taco truck style burrito and the enchilada plate. The burritos meat was a bit over cooked and they took care of it immediately and it didn't affect the timing of us eating together. The salsa bar was kept full and clean. The prices are reasonable too. We will definitely be back!

The food is authentic Mexican, I know the owner and he tries to keep the tradition of real Mexican food alive in his restaurant. I do recommend this place.

Great service, food, and atmosphere. Items are fairly priced. Serve a mean salsa for those looking to spice it up. For the more conservative, a mild or non hot (but delicious) salsa is also available. My only gripe was the type of cheese jn my super burrito.. not my preferred type. Ask and choose.

I tried this new place. But I am undecided so far , so the 3 star could remain or move higher. My experience was lunch menu which was being served on their specials for that day. I had the fish tostada and family had steak ranch with bell pepper. The name eludes me at this moment, but based on my taste and of my family, nutn special. The lunch sides and salsa are quite good. Now back to the fish tostada. Honestly, I didn't like it. The sides that come with it were great. Tortilla,hot, refried beans. But the main fish was cubed frozen tasting bits of white fish. It was like chewing chopped old celery texture. However, this was only my first experience, I will give them another try since my family enjoy other items on the menu.. Most restaurants are not great in everything they serve. AS always, keep exploring.

This is our favorite Taqueria. I have celebrated many birthday dinners here. Great food and service. Best salsa bar in Modesto. Their guacamole is best in the 209!

Food was disgusting. Customer service was horrible. I had a very bad experience here and would not recommend it. I waited 45 min to get food. Its a Saturday so I understand it gets busy but the food was not worth the wait or good amount of money spent there. I asked for an extra plate and received one dirty with beans on the side. It looked like someone just ate off of it. Their was alot of flies all over the place. They ended up in our salsa and drinks. No one came to ask for a refill or see if we needed anything else. The food is over priced. I ordered a 9 dollar chicken tender kids plate for my daughter and got one chicken strip cut into slices on top of fries. That is definitely not worth it. The chicken was really pink inside my enchiladas. I didn't even end up eating much from my plate. Overall I would not recommend this place to friends or family. Very disappointed.

Very authentic Mexican food and atmosphere, you have to try the table side guacamole. Only thing that is sort of awkward is that you have to pay for your food first, which can make leaving a tip a bit of a challenge.

Good food but you have to pay for your food before you get it. You had to start a second if you wanted more drinks and our waiter was very slow

This is a great restaurant! Great customer service. My family has been going here for 7 years and we’ve had many items in menu. I recommend the combination fajitas, the serving is so large you’ll take some home! Great salsa bar, clean bathrooms and good prices.

Their prices used to be decent.. now they are super expensive.
